You just had a great show, you and your partner were at the top of your game. Your assistant, who happens to be your, was perfect. Your act was about to sign a huge contract. You walk up and see your wife (assistant) with her head sticking out of the “saw a lady in half box” groaning. Yes, your partner is inside. The next time you go on stage your guillotine illusion does not go to plan and , yes, you cut off your wife’s head, but it was accidental.
The people responsible for Peep Show, made a movie called: Magicians. It is a comedy set in the world of illusionist. The two once partners now do not speak. Neither have been completely successful in continuing a career. So they both enter a magic contest with a high dollar cash prize. High jinx ensues.
If you enjoy English humor, you should enjoy Magicians. It was often dark, but often funny. Of course the climax of the movie is conducting the same guillotine trick as before. Does it work or will another person succumb to a lack of magic?
