The Hunter #Netflix365

A man is hired to hunt down the last suspected Tasmanian tiger known to exist in order to get the DNA.   Willem Defoe plays The Hunter, a mercenary willing to do the job.  Defoe acts as a scientist in order to cover his tracks of his real purpose.  This movie is a slow burn.

There are a few decent scenes of action, but the drama created of the ethics of the hunt and those who hire a man to hunt down what is supposed to be the last animal of its kind in existence.  There is a strange dynamic between the hunter character and a family during the film.  Does the hunter find his prey? Does the hunter have a change of heart?  This movie has one of the best endings.

There are some slow parts in the film but the ending is truly the best ending that could be given to this film.  The filming of The Hunter has some great camera work.  Willem Defoe is another of my favorites.  One of the most underrated actors of his time.  Do not watch this expecting a ton of action.  Do watch this for a decent story, good drama, and a satisfying ending.
