The Experiment #Netflix365

The Experiment is a psychological thriller that stars Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker.  The premise is that a group of men are to be paid a large sum of money for participating in an experiment.  The experiment is that there is one group placed as prisoners in a jail setting.  The other group is the authority, guards.  The inmates are tasked with following 5 rules.  The guards are tasked with enforcing the 5 rules.  The only guide lines that are given to the guards is that the punishment is to fit the crime and must be doled out within 30 min. from when the rule is broken.  At first the two groups are joking about the situation, until a rule is broken.  The experiment is how the two groups handle situations.  There is a visual and emotional change that takes place with the participants.  There was no training given to the guards so they are relying on established morals in order to make decisions.  This is not a blockbuster of a film, but was interesting to watch.  The reason for the experiment and who did the experiment were vague, there was a blurb about the government at the end.  The story could have been a little stronger but overall is a decent film.

What are you watching?

Been meaning to catch this, always liked Prison Break tv show and I’m sure this is done by same guy that was involved in that. Don’t really like Brody or Whitaker though which puts me off slightly! Nice write up Sean

Don’t let Brody or Whitaker hold you back, there are other characters that they interact with that may interest you. Brody is not my favorite either but did you see him in the Predator movie? He was decent. I do enjoy Forest Whitaker though, he is creepy and disarming at the same time. Thanks for the comment.

Yeah I thought he was tolerable in Predators, but I just don’t enjoy watching him for some reason. I will let you know my thoughts when I catch it.
